About the event


Hailing from Cork in the south of Irelandaward-winning songwriter and much sought-after guitarist  Patsy O’Brien is renowned for his ability to meld songwriting and guitar styles seamlessly. It’s a trait that caught the attention of NPR who featured his arrangement of The Star Of The County Down (see below) on their All Songs Considered program.

Featured on National Public Radio and winning a Best Song Award from a chapter of the American Folk Alliance in 2003, press critics have commented that Patsy  “Falls in the void between Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, and Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson. An Irish Robbie Robertson” (New Haven Advocate)

Patsy has traversed the globe, guitar in hand, accompanying, creating and recording with some of the giants of Irish music.  His travels hosting guitar and songwriting workshops and performing have led him to formulate his ideas into lessons and one-on-sessions based on his years of experience…
